The General Council of BOA is composed of the followings:

• Two representatives for each NF affiliated to the IFs governing sports that included in the Olympic Games;
• One representative from maximum three sports disciplines, which are not included in the program of the Olympic Games, but recognized by BOA. the sports disciplines will decide by BOA;
• Two representative from Bangladesh Women Sports Association;
• One representative from Bangladesh Special Olympic;
• Two representatives from each ROAs(Divisional Sports Association)
• One representative each from Multi-Games sports Association of Army, Navy, Air force, Bangladesh Refiles and Police, Ansar VDP;
• Four distinguished sports personality nominated by the President, BOA;
• Four distinguished sports personalities nominated by the Patron;
• Two Olympians, active or retired, to be nominated by the President BOA; however, the latter must retire from their posts as the latest by the end of the third Olympiad after the last Olympic Games in which they took part;
• Elected member of IOC (if available);
• One representative from National Sports Council(NSC);
• One representative from Ministry of Youth & Sports;
• Immediate past President and Secretary General of BOA.
• To promote fair play and take actions against any form of discrimination and violence in games and sports on grounds of race, religion, politics, sex or otherwise;

The names of the representatives from NFs, Women Sports Association and ROAs shall be approved by the Respective Executive Committee and under the signature of either President or General Secretary. In all other cases the representative shall be furnished by the head of the Institute.

The member of the General Council and EC of BOA with exception of those who devote themselves to the administration of sports, shall accept no salary or bonus of any kind inconsideration for the performance of their function.
